Mixing classical and contemporary influences and materials helps me to find timeless threads in timely issues -bringing underlying structures of life to light. Inspired greatly by theoretical science and resulting philosophies, I exercise forms of thought that mingle imagination and observable reality. The resulting artworks should serve as templates for creative thinking and artful living, or dreaming out loud...
One of my favorite mediums is Oil on Microchip, which I use to make powerful yet tiny talismanic artworks which speak bounds about the superposition of computer technology on all aspects of life. Classically rendered paintings on small electronic components hint at the evolving place of art in our lives. The value of many of the newest, most coveted consumer products increases relatively to a sharp decrease in size -”slim and compact” has replaced “bigger and better”. My microchip paintings reflect this and explore a wide range of subjects while striving for a poetic efficiency inspired by the natural world.
